How to get to Turkestan

Turkestan is an ancient city of Kazakhstan, the second Mekka for the muslims of Central Asia. If you decided to travel to Turkestan, the following information might be useful for you:

From Astana

The nearest airport to Turkestan is in Shymkent (capital city of South Kazakhstan region), which is about 180 km away from Turkestan. A taxi, a bus or a train can be used to get from Shymkent to Turkestan.
